What are your preferred mods for 1299 base model? It will be used for commute, long trips (1,000 km) and the occasional track day. As it is, I am considering race seat for my first mod. Thanks in advance for any input Rex
Decent bike out of the box. I use it for the same purposes you do. A suspension set up to suit you is a good start, a tail tidy ( necessary on 99% of bikes), tank pad , possibly ventureshield ( other protective films are available) , changing you power modes ( free mod, link courtesy of @burndownthediscos - - if you can't be arsed reading the manual) & a DP Carbon front fender to stop people mistaking your sexy steed for a VFR 800. It's also mandatory to have a DUCATI CORSE sticker down the side, I've opted not to and instead saved my money for legal defence when I get pulled. As aluded to by our leader , be careful about the race seat, it's not for everybody . Enjoy your new toy, they are phenomenal bikes.
Fuel & tyres. Honestly they need for nothing. For the eye a cowling and tail tidy. Other than that whatever you fancy
a race set wont really do much. get a suspension set up at a trackday for the road when you leave as it does not cost much. you can buy loads of exrtas costing thousands.we all buy some each to there own.
It depends on your height, weight, build etc...but for me I got the following which have made everything a lot more comfortable both on and off track. Taller windscreen (Puig racing) Rear sets (Sato) Comfort seat (DP) Tank grip (Stompgrip) Throttle spacers and new grips Other stuff i've added but mainly for aesthetic reasons are Akra full Ti NRC tail tidy
I beg to differ on the seat. The standard is too slippery, the comfort is too soft (so you have to lift you bum more to shift about), and the race is just perfect. Gets me up over the bike a bit more, grippy, and easy to shift about on if you need to. Each to their own though.... It depends how you ride. Throttle spacer kit is well worth it, and you definitely need some sort of a tail tidy. If you don't take pillions, get the seat cover and ditch the pillion pegs. Beyond that, suspension set up and go ride as much as you can....
Newbie question - is a suspension set up required with the S model? I know it helped with my 1198, but is it required / possible with the electronic suspension? From a Panigale S owner (as of next Tuesday!).
