1199 Best Sound Termignoni Or Akroprovic Slip On's

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by JAM35, Aug 25, 2016.

  1. Hi all. Going to be getting some replacement slip on's soon.
Just wondering which out of the termi's and the akra's sound the best to fellow owners.
    Cheers
    James

  2. I've seen a lot of vids and have to say the Akra's seem to have more 'tone' but the difference is pretty minimal

  3. Akras in my opinion :upyeah:

  4. The standard cans on my Panigale are way louder than Termignonis.

  5. With baffles fitted yes agreed, but no way without them! Plus it's not just the noise, the standard pipes have no tune to them

  6. I disagree on both counts :)

  7. Fair enough but the standard bike is measured and stamped on the frame at 108db and the termi's without baffles have measured at 111db, besides the stock pipes are also heavy...

Agree to disagree with u ;-)

  8. I think it's bike dependant , my 899 with Termi end cans and Akra full system were about the same noise levels with the Akra being a deeper tone, my 1299 with only Akra end cans sound extra loud and nasty and spit and pop like no other bike I have owned, I was out all day yesterday and came home with a double headache, never thought I would say it but I may put the baffles in.

  9. I agreed to disagree with you first so I winned (as my 2yo grandson would say) ;)

  10. Don't think the 1299 needs the baffles out as plenty loud enough with them in them. Went past a car in the week and on an upshift it popped and banged just like a BSB bike and the lady driving looked liked she'd just shit herself bless her. That was only at around 5000rpm so god knows what it'll sound like when I can unleash the beast properly.

  11. don't look behind now when accelerating as there is no point ( noise and speed) . either way just wait for the helicopter to get in front of me now haha.

  12. Today, I heard a 1299 with akra belly hanging on the ground pipes. It sounded really really nice. Lovely sound, deep and angry. Btw, wasn't even moving :)

  13. I have removed both catalytic converters from the OEM exhausts, it's safe to say its mega loud; Louder than anything I've heard. Only thing close, if not louder would be the Austin Racing.

    Significant increase in torque too!

  14. I had the Termi's on my 899 with baffles out, sounded great.

I have the full Akra system on my 1299, which sounds deeper & makes those cool barks & booms when changing gears, blue flames . I have to say in my opinion the finish on the Akra system is better than the termi's.

I have ridden it a lot with baffles out which when I rode with a Shoei X-Spirit 3 helmet, after time got to the point of annoying. I would finish a ride & have tinnitus, not pleasant. I tried it with the baffles in which helped but doesn't sound as good. I recently changed to an AGV Corsa helmet & can ride with baffles out, with out feeling like I am damaging my hearing when I get home. All riding done with ear protection fitted, unworkable with out.

On a slightly different note, I did a track day at Cadwell park & was concerned the Akra system would be too loud, with baffles fitted it passed no problems. I did warm it up before the test, apparently as the titanium gets warmer it gets quieter.

  15. Yo Guys. Think its a pity we have to spend another 2 grand + on a decent looking and sounding exhaust and also better build, after spending around 20K on the bike to start with ! The standard 1299 exhaust is pretty crappy !

  16. I don't, Ducati are quite clear, here is the 1299 and here is the extra upgrades.
If you want to spend more, they have the product.

  17. Any body got sc project crt's on their panigale. I know they are loud....but are they too loud. .?.
