Had a great day at the DGR Leeds ride out today. Weather was a bit grim first thing but got better as the day went on. Great organisation with great marshalling to ensure everyone was safe en route. Some fantastic bikes on show too including a 1926 Triumph which we judged to be the best bike there, and also a Mike Hailwood rep Desmo (Brett from Halifax - hopefully he'll see this post). We finished up being asked to attend a Leukaemia fund raising event at Pizza Hut in Cardinal Field, Leeds so that the kids there could see all the bikes and take part too. A huge thank you to Pizza Hut for the free soft drinks and pizza too!! So to sum up. Great day. Great weather (eventually). Great ride. Great organisation. Great marshalling. Great bikes. Great people and great fund raising. Massive thanks to everyone that took the time and effort to sponsor me and anyone else that did the DGR day. Let's hope that this helps find that elusive cure for cancer!! Hope you like the pics (it's just a selection)
And that's my medal for raising the most sponsorship on the Leeds ride Thank you everyone that donated and a thank you in advance to those that will
It is like a hipsters day out! Well done, all for a good cause, some smashing looking bikes there as well.
Ps - Thanks to more money donated this morning I am now standing at £1440 raised for this worthy cause!! Thank you everyone that has donated so far. I really cannot thank you enough. Honestly.......my simple words of gratitude are not enough If there are any more people out there that would like to donate please click on the link below. It's not to late to give. In fact it's NEVER too late to give!! Teodoro Di Stasi - The 2016 Distinguished Gentlemans Ride Once again thank you all for your support!!
The main charity was Prostate Cancer UK - so this is a bit of insurance for all us men of a certain age
The rides across the world have now completed their journeys, and I personally want to thank everyone that has donated so far for their participation. Over 56,000 people rode their magnificent motorbikes through 503 cities across 90 countries worldwide. But most importantly, we have all have raised an incredible amount of awareness and funding for Men's Health, with the current fundraising total sitting at a remarkable $3,350,000 USD. But the journey isn’t over yet. If you would like to help and donate, now is your chance! Donations will be accepted up until 31st October 2016. Even a donation of £5 can make a difference in helping millions of people around the world. Call it insurance for the future, if you will, but let's try and find a cure for this horrid disease that has taken far too many loved ones in the past!! Thank you for putting up with my regular posts but most of all thank you for donating!! Teodoro Di Stasi - The 2016 Distinguished Gentlemans Ride
