Monster Refresh - Picture Heavy

  1. Hopefully this weekend it will be stripped down for powder coating. Last weekend I did the last bit of fitting adjustment with the air-filters and battery box.

    Bought directly from RAMAIR the filters were only just over £12 including postage, unfortunately they cover the alloy intakes:

    With the intakes and filters fitted the battery box did not fit properly so a little adjustment with a big saw and it all fits together:

    With the battery box rubber fitted there is no interference with the filter or intake.

  2. Played about with the clutch case and trimmed a little more weight off it with a hand saw and then finished it off with a few files:

  5. Only did a little bit of work yesterday, trimmed and de-flashed the front mudguard and de-seamed and cleaned up the rear suspension rocker:

  6. Collected the paint work yesterday from BSA Bodyrepairs in Porton.

  7. I sent the clutch cases, valve covers and cam covers to get sprayed Gold. Got them back the other week and I think they look okay:

  8. The bottom end was assembled fully and all was going well until a piston ring snapped, stopping the rebuild in its tracks:

    So the heads were finished and shimmed:

  9. I was lucky enough to get hold of a free set of ST2 pistons with some usable rings. I then picked up a set of Ducati Performance 94mm pistons:

    These will be great once cleaned up.

  10. New rubber arrived in time for the weekend and the continued build:

    For £134 for the pair they were worth a try and seem quite sticky as well.

  11. I didn't manage to get the tyres on but I did do some work on the project. A good day with Mark at MADASL.

    I decided on the 94mm Hi-Comp pistons over the standard ones:

  12. Only did a bit of work on the project today. Injectors on, alloy intakes on (one modified), Ramair filters fitted and battery box on.

  16. I trimmed down a carbon fibre (damaged) front mudguard today.

    I hack sawed off the damaged parts:

    Not sure which bike I will use it on yet.

  17. Did a little more today, although the fuel tank needs to be redone as the decals are not right yet.
