I have just returned from my Euro adventure on the Hyper 939 SP. 2037m in two weeks!. I has some awful mileage from full tank to fuel light on and very inconsistent. Worst being 79miles, best was around 107 miles What do peeps get out of a full tank before the light coms on? And How many miles have you completed with the light before running out?
First week from new I got to 112 then light came on. Panicked at that point and got petrol but reckon another 10-15 miles could have been had Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was in the middle of no where too. Switched down to rain mode and rode it gently all the way to civilisation Does seem to vary though. Think recently I had 87 to light (but I had just been thrashing it in race mode)....then panicked...again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bloody hell... My rsv4 with full race systems about the same (90 - 100 miles)... Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
Had to push my Vespa home once - 2 miles, mostly up hill (rear puncture) was on my knees after 5 mins so I'd be on the bat phone to Ducati assistance if the SP ran out of fuel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mind u, don't think my stopping for a fag break every 2 mins helped me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pushed a gsxr 1100 for a mile... Mind you that was about 25 years ago... Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
Pushed an MTX125 10 miles when I was about 20 and the only guy to answer his door to me chucked it in his Landy for fuel money and took me home as I looked so dead (Colchester to Lawford). I have a trailer now
3311 Kms so far. I get 5.7L / 100 Km Furthest distance on one fill 250 Km with still some +-40 Km left. Average distance per fill 173.2 Km Had a 821 and both hypers have the tendency to show the fuel light while you easily still have 5 litres left which in my number above means around 85 Km! My BMW gives me the light when it has 65 Km so ok the hyper is given you more buffer.
I'm having the same - 100odd miles to light... I have never managed to get more than 13l in and have got very very close to overfilling it - stop, shake/rock get air out - touch more in etc... I think you can easily go 30-40 miles on the light, but yet to try it (2l in a flask is the plan one day)
When the light comes on I'm told there is about 6lts remaining in the tank?? I would push it another 30m miles on the light but no more, I really don't want to be pushing the bike anywhere apart from in and out of my garage!!
Consumptiin seems high ish ? I reckon zero back trip at every fuel stop. As said bring a flask and measure it someday. Erratic fuel lights are annoying.
Buy a 2litre fuel can & run out of fuel, nippynormans do good ones. The fuels tanks are always larger than they state, shove the filled fuel can in a bag over your shoulder,...job done
