  1. So, the wife was given redundancy a couple of days ago [oops] so thought I'd ask you lovely guys n gals on here about potential employment opportunities. She is a regional operations manager, East Anglia. She is in touch with agency's but was hoping you could reel off some more agency's that she maybe able to contact, also what days are job days in some of the bigger papers?

A long shot I know, but don't ask don't get [whistle]

  2. Thread moved

  3. suggest that she registers with Indeed , Monster Jobs and Fish4jobs to get their daily emails of jobs in her field/location

  4. JobServe.

  5. Do a search on FM Jobs, FM World, Telegraph Jobs, Michael Page, Hays, Boden Resource, MCS Executive Search for starters.

    Good luck to your missus

  6. Good luck with the search. There seems plenty of work out there so enjoy the cash and make the most of it :)

  7. All the agencies in Suffolk (and the UK) are a load of crap....better off picking the phone up and calling a few favours in, IMO and experience.....

...one agency even lost me the job I had only just picked up myself, by making an indiscreet phone call........

....which is why I formed my own limited company.......

    ......but now have retired................so I don't give a flying f...........................

  9. I got made redundant last year from a similar role and tried every route to find a job. I found linkedin useless and a waste of time, the main job sites like reed, monster, indeed etc... were excellent and as soon as i put my CV on there i started to get calls from agents and employers. Make sure you've covered the key words in your profile and CV that potential employers are looking for as a lot use search engines to pick out a CV or profile. It might sound daft but she might want to sign on as there is lots of help and job advert access via free government links you can get from the dole office. Also check what help she can get from the government as if you get made redundant there is usually a pot of money for extra training you can get. I got £1500 to spend on training from the Welsh government to support me getting back to work. Hope that helps....

  10. That you all very much :grinning:

  11. our UK HR go here first - Job Search - Find UK vacancies and jobs near you on CV-Library - as it is much cheaper and less hassle than using an agency (given some agency will ask for 25% of starting salary for looking in the same place, it is a genuine consideration for recruiting companies). I think it is free for people seeking work.

    Good luck to Mrs BBR.

  12. From a candidates perspective they can get a bit aggressive in marketing and emails to the candidate.

  13. Jobsite and Reed are also good. She needs to spend a lot of time on a killer CV. Set up alerts on the job sites and check regularly.
