My son and I are looking for a ‘restoration/modification ready’ Carburated 900SS as our next project. We have a lightly modified Superlight/Endurance racer look in mind. We’ve bid on a few on Ebay, but just do not have the funds to secure what have all been complete, basically good to go bikes. Engine condition is completely immaterial as we’re finishing off the build of a bitsa 900/962 engine at the moment. Ideally it would be a complete bike with a blown or otherwise damaged engine, but anything incomplete at the right price would be considered, as would a pile of parts to give us a really good start. We have a strict top budget for the purchase of £1500, but I see that as a complete bike, maybe a little cosmetically challenged with a damaged non running engine, or a better bike cosmetically with an engine too badly damaged to repair. A 600 or 750 that we could bring up to spec with 900 parts could be an option. We really want to use the engine we’re building instead of being tempted to stick it in my 900 Monster. So, what’s everybody got lurking under an sheet in the back of their garage that they've not touched in years? Thanks Nasher.
Totally off spec but I have a 750SSie I need rid of at some point. Good runner but needs an MOT and service. To many bikes not enough time for them all. Would be a good project base with lots of bits to sell on
Nobbi Hi, and thanks. It might be worth considering, although it's the whole look of the older SS we like, tank shape etc. Send me a message if you know what you'd like for it, but I'd like to hang on a while to see if something more on spec is offered. Nasher
Thanks for the tip-off Arquebus Just gave them a call, unfortunately it was sold about 4 months ago. Nasher
I think I posted that it was available about that time ago........ It needed doing up badly, which is why I didn't go for it....I would have done it properly.
I am looking to sell my 1992 900ss with white frame. I was going to sell as parts as there are lots of nice bits, but ended up doing some more riding over the summer and didn't have the heart to break it. It is well sorted and rides amazingly with its Nitron shock and GSXR front end, but could certainly do with a tidy as i've painted it myself. PM if you're interested. Andrew
We're 'discussing it' I'm afraid, although I'm Andrew will be glad to see he could have a backup plan. Nasher.
Love a good backup plan, but indeed, discussions are underway. And whilst this is an open market, good manners demand I respect the fact that I responded to Nasher's thread, so Nasher gets first dibs. Hope everyone is cool with that. Andrew
