Hi all Just picked up a 2006 SC Mono-posto, yellow and black, with 3000 miles on the clock. My friend has owned this for over two years and not put more than 10 miles on it (sad I know). He's sold this bike to me 3 days ago as he was short of money so I took it off him as I had just sold my F4. This bike has had two owners, me being the 3rd. It has a FDSH, serviced @800miles and @2200 miles. It also has a 2=2 Termignoni exhaust with ecu & air filter (original parts too). The bike is in excellent condition and standard apart from the exhaust. All 3 keys and booklets etc. The worst thing about the bikes is the dirty spokes - they look like a bastard to clean : ( Now the reason I am posting this is because although she is a beautiful bike its not really me. And after doing some research I found out that these are like gold dust, very sought after and extremely rare. I intend to sell the bike come February. But obviously it will need serviced as its not been done in over two years. I did manage a short ride on her the other day and its a fabulous bike. I took the bike to get an MOT and the local shop dealer nearly dropped dead. His first words were 'how much do you want?'. I shrugged, he then said 'I'll give you 6 grand!'. I honestly did not know what to say... I'd like some input if possible from some SC or GT or even PS owners at price ranges of this bike. If a dealer is offering 6K straight away with no questions asked, how much in theory could I get. Kindest Regards Cris
Hi Chris.Lovely looking bike and as you say quite rare.I have owned and sold both a Sport Classic 1000S and a GT1000 within the last 12 months. You are looking at a niche market and very much relying on the right buyer in the market at the time you are selling. The sum you were offered by the dealer was by no means insulting, and I would put a price of £6500 or thereabouts as an absolute top end. However you will have to take into account the cost of having the machine serviced before selling it privately.Buyers will be looking for a service record strictly in line with Ducati guidelines.Anyway, best of luck,it's a lovely looking bike.
Great looking bike. I have a GT1000 that's had a few modifications over the years, but no idea what it's currently worth. Would be interesting to see what value a Ducati dealer would offer you in part exchange?
I wouldn't ride it with those tyres either, they were nervous and confidence sapping when new so six years later they wont have improved.
£8k??? Jesus.... that's a bit optimistic. I've seen one of those go for £8k but it had about 300 miles and was literally in showroom condition.
Its up for £7700 as it needs a £300 service. Used Ducati Sport Classic 1000 - Monoposto - £8000 ono for sale - PistonHeads (Ref 918013) I bet his mate will be crying if he saw the ad.
Yeahiceman 8K was a bit optimistic lol. So I have dropped to 7k ono. Or I would happily swap for a monster plus cash my way. Dave the tyres are a bit strange. Final edition, my mate has seen it, and is not too fussed, because he was in a right mess and was needing cash asap. So we were both lucky in the end I suppose.
