Your customer service is a little different to this example: 'At the Superbikes I was telling the lads the story & Shano says "yeah, my Motobatt leaks like a cunt" so yesdy I decided to check the Motobatt I bought 6 weeks ago for my Brother's V Max & guess what? Dead as fried chicken & it won't take any charge. Took it back to the shop this morning & he gave me my $$ back no questions asked & told me they've had so many failures with them that they won't stock them any more - "They're a heap of shit mate" were his exact words.' http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/showthread.php?26095-WARNING-Motobatt-batteries-are-SHIT.
Thanks for the reply Exige, I'd already seen this thread on street fighters before I posted this problem on this forum. Not decided whether to post the battery back to busters yet has they will probably say I have misused or abused it. In which case It will have cost me the postage and the price of the motobatt which I might aswell put towards a new battery, which might aswell be a good old lead acid type cos I never had one of those leak on mi bike in over 18 years of ownership. They are seriously good. Teamed up with a cable kit, they provide the kind of cranking power that gives you total confidence the bike will start first time, every time
Q ive contacted the Yuasa importer. He's given me the part number:- YT12B-BS. The battery is smaller. The terminals are the opposite way around. So can I just turn the battery round and will the cables fit OK . It's £44.99 inc. delivery so it's cheaper than a motobatt and it should be reliable. Dogrose
The later bikes, 996 and 748 switched over to the YT12B-BS battery. The battery will fit fine. Leave the cables alone and just fit the battery appropriately. The battery tray can be adapted to take the smaller battery using the adapter tray part # 82912701A and the clip part # 82711951A. They cost about £14 the pair.
Cheers for the advice nelly, and the part numbers. ( better than spacing it out with lumps of wood Thanks again Dogrose
