1200 DVT Spinning Tank Bolt

  1. Messing with mine today, removing bodywork, cleaning type stuff, and have a little issue with getting one of the mid panels back. So thought maybe the tank had moved, trued to remove the bolt that looks like it goes into an airtime or take, and it just spins. Other side ok, just this one

Any history of this? Google brings up some older models (2010-13) just not sure of its a known warranty problem or not.

  2. Must be caused by ethanol ...

  3. I had a spinning tank bolt where the left side of the tank cover screws in to the fuel tank, resulted in a fuel leak and a new tank! It ruptured a seam in the tank apparently. I would get it looked at under warranty.

  4. Its an 'owner specific adaption' fitted by Ducati when they saw your name on the order sheet. I think they've heard about your reputation of taking perfectly servicable bikes and turning them into nightmares. Leave it alone, its for your own good mate.

  5. :p
Don't do that with new bikes. Don't even add bling. Just ride and occasionally wash. Now a track bike...
