You do wonder why they don't consider at least trying to talk it up a bit... saying it's bad and it's not really going to get better doesn't encourage anyone to spend money or create employment. I've run my own company for 21 years and I don't think it's ever been so bad for so long. You just keep thinking, maybe we can ride it out and things will get better and then this negative crap happens.
Disagree. 'Talking up' has caused much of this mess. What is needed now is transparency, accuracy and truth - not wishful thinking, pretending and bullshit.
I'm not saying we don't need transparency, accuracy and truth. We need transparency, accuracy and truth but combined with confidence. And all those elements will create the right mood and get the markets moving again.
