Hi, new to Ducatiforum but not to Ducati I've owned my 916 Strada for about 12 years, during which it was my only bike for about 9. I bought a Monster 821 Dark the day after it was annouced, as I was looking to semi retire the 916. After about two and half years of fun on the 821, including Morocco, I decided it was time for a change, so I've just ordered a shiny new black 1200R for delivery on the 1st January. Chas.
Thanks, I was tempted by the specs of the new 1200S for about 30 seconds, but all the reviews by owners convinced me that the R is something special, just like you said
Interesting, my local Ducati dealer has two or three red ones in stock, on the grounds that a Ducati should be red I suppose. When I went to Pro Twins at Godstone their demo bike was in black, on the grounds that it was the better looking colour combination for the 1200R. Guess who got my order ;-)
