  1. Interesting clip of non enduro ducati multistrada going off road.

  2. sod that!!

  3. Well that's 3 minutes of my life i won't get back.....
IMHO anything over a 550cc single has no place off road unless you accidentally run wide in a corner.

  5. Did you use the pirelli-scorpions for that?

  6. If the question is for me, no I used Bridgstone T30 touring tyres for most of it till the rear wore out then put a Continental Road Attack on for the final week which had a few gravel trails left to do :)

  7. Thx, so those are not special Off-road only tires, correct?

Just wondered, because a while ago I also tried a stretch of Off-road with the scorpions, went surprisingly well.

  8. The Bridgstones are dual compound road tyres for supposed extra mileage and the Road Attack are also road tyres with a hint of sports use. Both were ok once you turned off the traction control and let the rear spin a bit (probably didn't help the mileage on the tyre on loose gravel) :)

  9. Its the size for me that would stop me doing that. Light gravel roads maybe, but not mud and ruts

  10. Its actually manageable but probably having long legs gives me more confidence ...the clip below is probably the hardest track we rode. Starts with loose gravel and progresses to loose and not so loose rocks on a very steep incline to the top of a mountain :)

The footage from the front of my bike at about 10 and a half minutes in shows how much punishment the suspension was taking but the tyres coped better than i expected. My mate was running Continental Trail Attacks on his KTM 1190 which lasted the trip but were fecked on return after 6000 miles. My front T30 has lasted 8000 miles

It was later that day after we came back down the mountain i realised i had screwed the rear T30 and the only tyre i could find anywhere within 100kms was the Continental Road Attack which would have been way down my choice list but needs must. Its lasted about 5000 miles but was squared off badly with the 1750 mile motorway blast home over the last 2 days

  11. I am amazed the wheels held up. I have a large dink on my rear from a pothole, and know there of loads of other multis the same. Maybe its a speed thing: pothole at 90 plus is worse than all those stones and rocks at 40
