Good morning! I've finally bought a Ducati ... well honestly more a baby Ducati, which is also going to be a somewhat of a project. It's a '94 600ss and, as far as I can tell, it's been off the road for about 10 years. I bought it in a bit of a moment of madness off eBay (anyone else know that experience? ...). The seller was someone who bought it a couple of months ago and had got it going, got it through an MOT, but not really used it. It feels pretty rough - although I suspect it's more a matter of a good service, tuning and recommissioning as it had a good service record until it went off the road in 2006. I think I'm going to trust that to a Ducati specialist. I'm in London. Does anyone have any views on Rosso Corse or Ray Petty Meccanica - or other recommendations? Best, Richard
hello and welcome dude. Ducati proteam are excellent, very good rates and great service. Based in strood, Kent, not far depending on where you are in London. they do a great pic up/drop off service. Well worth giving them a call
Great - thanks a lot. Ducati Proteam website gives a very good impression too ... and the pickup service is pretty reasonable If anyone has any views on the central London ones (Rosso Corse or Ray Petty Meccanica) that'd be cool - could be a bit easier for me. And I have a sneaking feeling this won't be the last visit ... so might be worth settling with someone that's close and good
Only got one photo as yet ... but maybe it goes some way to explaining why I got excited and pushed the "Bid now" button ;-)
Thank you ... I very much appreciate all the messages and the welcome. Am sure I'll be coming back for help (and banter) ... Does anyone have any advice for me on Rosso Corse, Ray Petty etc? I think Ray was originally part of Rosso Corse along with Marcus Jones and has now split away to set up on his own. From what I can tell, Rosso Corse had a good reputation in days gone by. Ray Petty's new operation looks very "shiny" - which for some reason I find slightly off-putting, but I may be being unreasonable. Equally I don't know if Rosso Corse, without Ray, is as good as it was. Any thoughts? R
Welcome to the forum Richard. I used to have the 900 version years back. Good luck with the project. Cool surname also!
Very good to hear - thanks a lot. So recommendations for Ray Petty and (at the start of the thread) Ducati Proteam. Any views on Marcus Jones / Rosso Corse ... Best, R
