Hi, Just joined the forum and start with a help request! I have just purchased aftermarket fairings for my 916 and am a bit stumped with fitting the seat unit/tail fairing. The replacement has no moulded screw threads in the base for the location of rear light bracket and lock mechanism as the original does. Has anyone else discovered a solution? Any help very much appreciated, Paul.
It'll need a frame making up of sorts to provide the mounting points. Once you've got it, bond it and fibreglass in place. No easy way to get it sorted properly and make it secure. You could mount thru the seat but it'd look naff.
Many thanks for your quick reply and help. Guess youve just confirmed what i thought really so best get busy with fibreglass! Think I may try and get an old/damaged original seat unit and chop it up and bond to base of new seat unit. Thanks again, Paul.
