Hi, My first post here and just wanted to say Hello. I've been away from bikes for a good few years but I've just got back in the saddle. I've bought a 94' 750SS and collecting it tomorrow (cant wait) I've already got a few plans for it, enough to keep me occupied over the winter, will post pics up as soon as I get it home. Jim
Hi jimmeylegs and welcome to the forum. I had a 900ss years ago the exhaust boom used to set off car alarms! Fond memories
Thanks for the warm welcome guys, so exited i'm having trouble sleeping so I have a quick question I'm hoping you can help me with. I'm collecting the bike tomorrow, I'ts got the gold frame but the wheels are alloy rims with red colour coded spokes. Now I know what colour combination I would like but what is the correct frame and wheel colour for a 94' 750 SS? Should I be a purist and go for as it came out of the factory or go with choice? How do true Ducatiests feel about this? any ideas/advice/pics would be appreciated. Jim
hello and welcome dude. your bike and money so your choice I say. I have a 900 as and I'm in mixed minds as to keep it standard or custom a lil. Only the fact that its a 2 owner loq mileage (9 k) bike and very original is stopping me. my 748 bp with lots of owners and miles got the treatment without a 2nd thought. Still umming about doing the ss to match! good luck with it either way and be sure to get pics up, we like pics!
Welcome mate. Do the wheels whatever colour you like, black always looks good and hides the road dirt.
Pics is promised from when i bought it. Felt weird riding it home, different than anything I'd ridden before but loved it. I've got a few jobs to do on it, Clutch is high and the adjustment screw was stuck solid, I've managed to free it a bit but ended up ordering new levers, I'll also bleed the system. The oil cooler mounts are shot and one of the lugs has broken off the rad (a common problem I guess? I get the vibe ) I'm going to try and modify this in some way. The wheel rims are really highly polished and un blemished seems a shame to rub them down, so I'm planning on leaving the rims as they are and change the red spokes to silver, Discs centres will be changed to gold. Got lots i want to do to it so the plan is to get the body work off and take my time over winter. Thanks for the warm welcome BTW, I think I'm going to like it here : Jim
