Hello all, long shot I know but trying to identify the front brake on the attached picture. It is a Clymer which was a collaboration between Italjet running gear and a Royal Enfield engine produced in the early 1970s. I have abot 50% of the bike but am missing a complete front end. I am told the front brake is one as used on 1970s Ducatis. What I would like to know if it was used on a Ducati and if so which models. Any help with the forks would also be appreciated. Thanks Richard
Period Ceriani forks I'd imagine, they look similar to my 1975 T160 forks which I think were Ceriani copies
Yup Just that I think the Robinson was/is a copy of the Grimeca and if he's trying to be original he might get hold of a Grimeca somewhere. I just remember back in those days they were bunging all sorts of LS drums in bikes - think there was an 8 ls! Imagine setting that up
Remember at the time hankering after one of these Royal Enfield Rickman Interceptor Register - Burton Bike Bits | Burton Bike Bits
Oh, I see - I didn't know that. They were doing all sorts back in the 60's to improve Triton cafe racers.
Thanks for info, although there are very few pictures the non brake plate side is throwing me. Very distinctive pattern. Brake side look Gremica to me but, as I am an old brit bike bloke I dont recognise these at all. Richard
