Clutch slave cylinder

  1. I have heard of problems with the slave cylinder but not for a while now. I took the bike to the dealers the other day for a new dash which turned into another fiasco. Apparently for the new dash's they need both keys to complete the job so for anyone who's due to get it done remember this, after having spent 5 hours down at the dealers the other week waiting for them to replace the generator cover (which was supposed to only take 2 hours) I had to leave the bike with them overnight. Anyway I digress, I noticed the clutch felt spongy so I told them and they bled it, after I got home the clutch felt no better and once I'd switched her off I tried the clutch and it was making a very loud squeaking noise down by the slave cylinder - I guess it's knackered, I've heard it's a pretty poorly engineered part, anyone else have the same problem?
     
  2. Not sure what they are like on the Multi. If its the same as the 749 then I recommend contacting Adam at Motopike. he makes them and they are re-sealable for future maintenance.

  5. Brembo RCS clutch/master cyl kit. Not cheap but the dogs bollocks.
     
  6. Hi Bob, had clutch slave cylinder leaking on my MTS1200, it had covered 15000 miles and just out of two year warranty, Ducati not interested so I bought a new one. It comes with a modified clutch rod and a small plastic guide bush. The new rod has a pin through it and the bush prevents it from spinning, so I can only deduce that the original spins when loaded which either heats up the slave cylinder through friction or turns the slave cylinder piston neither good for long life.

  9. I bought it from my local Ducati dealer as they had one in stock. If I remember rightly it was about the same price as an aftermarket one. Very easy to fit.
