1199 1199 Panigale New Owner Need Help

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Hadianto, Feb 2, 2017.

  1. I've just buy a 1199 Panigale ABS 2013 (not S version) that replace my 848. I live in Indonesia and Panigale parts its not familiar in here.

I want to ask a few question about my bike :

    1. What is the best setting for my rear shock?

    2. What part number for the 1199 rear seat cowl (not the 899)?

    3. I've already buy a few items for my bike (not yet install)
    - Austin racing full exhaust
    - NRC tail tidy
    - Tank Pad
    - Throttle Spacer Kit
    - few R&G items
    - Denali Horn

What should I upgrade more beside rear seat cowl?

Is Ducati Performance is more worth it than I custom my original seat?

Do I need an upgrade to replace my enkei wheel? What is your recommended wheels?

    Thanks in advance for everyone.

  2. Best suspsension setting is completely subjective.

Rear cowl is the same as the 899.

    Wheels again is subjective.

    Hope that gets you started

  3. Thank You very much for your help.

So 899 rear cowl color and 1199 rear cowl is the same? Because my friend told me, the color will be slightly different and I'm not found a 1199 rear cowl on ebay that would sent to my country.

  4. They are the same colour, 899 and 1199 fairings are the same except for the stickers on the upper side fairings ('899' or '1199').

  5. The Ducati Performance racing seat is a bit higher at the front for better support (less ball bashing) and the material has more grip. The best thing to help with this is Stomp Grip on the tank. I consider it essential on track, and I would strongly recommend it on the road but some people dont like the look. Clear Stomp Grip is hardly noticeable ( see my pictures ).

The lightweight wheels make a noticeable difference to the ride and how quick the bike turns but they are very expensive.

Suspension should be set up for you by a suspension expert and depends on your weight and how you ride. Taking someone elses setting might be ok if they are similar weight and riding ability but it's not ideal, and could be a nightmare if they have unusual settings.

  6. Your answer is very helpful for me. I just purchase 899 rear seat from ebay and currently looking Ducati Performance seat because your help.

I already have a r&g grip right now but thanks for the advice on Stomp Grip.

Ok I think I will go to Ducati Services for the suspension setting to get a professional advice.
