.....but I know nothing bout duke's! I took a 2003 model out for test ride for 10 mins in damp conditions. I like the look (in the minority, I know). Very nice engine, better than I thought. Felt like i was sitting over the screen a little though. Needed three hands to operate the clutch but have been told this is normal. It was not mint but in good condition. NOT serviced recently. 1 years MOT and taxed. A few extras and three colour coded boxes. The viewing glass in the engine was cloudy and the belts hadn't been changed.I could of got it for £3400.I am look for a commuter/everyday bike. I own a Harley nightrain,zx6 for the track only and a CRM250...so feel this would fit nicely in there somewhere. I would like some advice though please. I have been told to get '05 or newer. Is there anything to look out for and generally any advise or stories about the Multistrada.
That sounds like too much for an 03 without recent belt change & service. Suggest you look for as recent as you can find. There are some good examples around but beware that they don't fare all that well through the Winter, look out for peeling engine paint and other corrosion. Full service record is a must have. Ideally find one like my old 04 that was only used for fun and log summer trips. Good luck.
Yep, a little too rich on the price especially when youve got examples like this out there Ducati MULTISTRADA 1000 S 2005 | eBay A high milage with FSH is FAR better than a low mileage with nothing.
Hi Steve welcome aboard The belts are £102/pair and take about 1hr to change ...easy job. the milky oil sight glass is common ...no worries. 05 is a good piece of advice...better side stand, valve guides sorted and the frame is strengthend at the back end (it won't snap off if you have a top box and loose the pillion) instrument panel should have no condensation on glass and all idiot lights working (about £350 for second hand ones from Multigatto) engine paint is always falling off. Termignoni "silencer" would be nice to hear Mine still going strong at 94K miles....love every minute
Yeah, nice! I need to take into account the cost of panniers/top box. Any advice there!! Much appreciated
I'm replying to the individual users but its coming up at the bottom. How do you guys know who I'm replying to?

I've got an '03 bike and it's been pretty good all round. Got it cheap cos the dashboard was playing up but got lucky finding another dirt cheap and getting it reset. Smashing bike to ride and, aside from a problem getting it to tickover reliably it's been reliable as clockwork. You can have mine for £3395...
Hi The Bull, Very intelligent answer, and may I add very quick witted to. Ill take your number if you don't mind incase life hits me with any unforeseen problems that I may not be able to deal with.
That made me chuckle  Enjoy the forum. I'm sure you will get lots of good advice and hopefully a few laughs too
Just found this post.........I'll have a think about your offer Buddy!!!! Bollocks to 'em. I thrash the spuds off my bikes, ride 'em in the wet, buy cheap tat for 'em and generally abuse them. If you don't like it, sod off and buy another bike, there'll be another punter along in a minute.
