I believe one just has to connect the two wires together. My 749 has a plug with a simple wire loop going from one connector port to the other.

Put a multimeter on the stand connector, if it's 3 pin 2 pins are connnected with it down and 2 with it up. I'd be tempted just to replace the switch though as it's a saftey feature.
If you don't need/want the safety bit you can take the stand switch off (8mm AF bolt IIRC), turn it to the stand up position and leave it stowed behind the fairing. Just need to remember to lift the stand
