1200 Wireless Key

  1. hi guys,

My MTS 1200 abs from 2012 key's stopped working.
Even after putting in a new battery, nothing's happening.
When I hold it close to the dashboard, it works, but after a few seconds I get the notification
    on the screen," no key".
As I live on Crete, we don't have any official dealer to ask for help.
Did anybody have the same problem?
And what can I do about it?

    Greetings,

    Alain

  2. Surely you need to re-link the fob too the antenna system. Check your manual bud'

  3. Have excactly the same problem,
Not sure about linking the keyfob. Cant find anything in the manual about it.
Also if it starts with the key close to the dash the link must be ok?

  4. the manual doesn't say anything about having to re-link the key after changing the battery.
I changed the battery before, and it worked perfectly afterwards.
    But thanks for the advise.

  5. I've had this happen with a "new" battery that turned out to be "not that new" (has happened twice). Poor shelf life of batteries can be a pain. If I get a proper battery, the problem goes away.

  6. I had a similar problem and it was a combination of a week battery and interference from my mobile phone. I have to keep them way from each other now.

  7. Have to try this out right now!!!
    Thanks

  8. +1 for a dead "brand new" out of the packet battery. Andy

  9. Buy a new battery and double check the fitment.

  10. already tried four batteries!!! They cant' all be empty can they?
    Thanks for the advice.

  11. Likewise Ive put in several batteries diferent makes and from diferent suppliers.
37 years engineering experience as a Control and Instrument technician tells me there is something wrong with the system … just what bit I don’t know.

Having changed the batteries in the past I know there is no need to link the fob back to the bike system and there is nothing in the manual that I can find to suggest this.

  12. Thanks a lot Topher, I don't have to look any further then.
Still a great bike isn't it, the MTS
