  1. hi guys, sorry, this has probably been explained numerous time already but just got my 748 and the sidestand switch gota go, what a pain!!
which wires need linking to bypass it please guys??
    cheers martyn

  2. er yeah that took me all of 3 minutes to figure out.....

  3. You can modify it so that it can be started on the ss but if you put it on gear it cuts out.

Much safer than riding off with the ss down...............

  4. yeah thats would be good, my s4 monster worked like that, much better :)

  5. and then the switch malfunctions and you ride off with the side stand down.........

Much safer to flick the side stand up before you hop on the bike - automatic failure in bike tests if you fail to do this in some countries

  6. Martyn, you can get a plug and play lead which allows the engine to run in neutral on the sidestand and kills it via the safety relay if you put it in gear with the stand down. The lead goes between the sidestand switch connector and the loom and takes two minutes to fit. It is widely used on the 748/9xx to allow the bike to get the required warm up period to minimize premature top end wear of the rockers.

Available on ebay and I would strongly recommend it for the sake of your top end
