1200 DVT Rear Tyre Time Or Do I Go For Somthing Difrent ?

  1. Hi all my bridgestone T30 rear tyre is on the wear markers so its time for a change.

I fitted a new pair of the t30's about 6000 miles ago and quite like them, the front probably has a few thousand left on it so....

Do I fit another T30 to the rear or do I go for a pair of somthing difrent ?

I ride 100% on the road and hated the scorpions which came on the bike ( made it way to wandery)

  2. Roadtec 01

  3. If you have rubber you like, why change :)

  5. Don't like the sound of that.

    Change the pair.

  6. Don't mix tyres. Just don't. Swap as a pair or stick with the T30. FWIW, I'm on Pilot Road 4s - they're a great tyre: not quite such good feel and turn in as Diablos in the dry, but they more than make up for it with fast warm-up and great wet grip. The rear also lasts 4500 miles, compared to 1500 with the Pirelli.

  7. +1

  8. 1500 miles on the Pirelli !? You've either got one hell of a fat pillion, or you are running 60+ psi !

  9. Scottish roads - Diablo Corsas, not Angels.

  11. Roadtec 01 are excellent.

  12. I did 3600 miles before my rear tyre needed changing ( original scorpion 2)
I bought a nearly new 2nd hand scorpion 2 from c&g tyres ( advertise on eBay ) turned out they are fairly local to me, great guys, fitted it to my loose wheel for £55 all in, £135 + fitting for a new scorpion, so a no brainer in my opinion
So now the plan is, when the rear is worn out, the front will be too & I'll change the pair for pilot road 4's : )

  13. IMHO there are 2 things i don't mind to buy quality and safety , brakes and tyres so 2nd hand ... never!

  14. Your money, your choice, but there are plenty of us out there that do buy quality 2nd hand tyres, buy a meticulously tested & inspected tyre, from a reputable supplier, for a quarter of the price of a brand new one, why wouldn't you ??
You fill your boots though Prats ; )

  15. Nothing wrong with used tyres if still in date and good nick :upyeah:

Half the fellas on tracks use scrubs, and use all the grip available. :)
