Just curious, based on the descriptions above it sounds like the front suspension on the bike is initially setup for zero rider weight? Looking at the math above dialing in 6 turns @ 15kg for a total of 90kg and rider weight is 90kg. Is that correct?
Calculation is right. Mine was set up at 5 in from full out, so 75kg, so not set at zero by any means. Some seem to be, some not. Could be PDI, no idea
Cool I am going to give it a try when I get home tonight thanks for the insight. Mine is set at a half a turn also.
It will, as it puts the suspension in the right operating bracket (providing the spring is heavy enough) for the skyhook
The Ohlins The Ohlins on the Pikes Peak has a maximum of 15 turns between fully out and fully loaded. So, I wonder if that's 15 x 10 Kg or 15 x 15 kg
Ohlins forks? May be the spring is different too, not just weight but also linear not progressive. Got to be worth a go though as you describe above 15x10kg
The manual states that the spring preload initial setting is 10 turns (fully open). I've never checked mine, but I'm going to after reading this thread..!
Just checked mine and it was set at about 3/4 turn in from fully out. Now changed it to 5 turns in from fully out, (I'm approx 80kg) so am expecting a firmer ride next time. Will have to restore the dash suspension settings to 'Default' and go from there. Have got used to the way it rides after a year so am expecting it to be too firm now, especially on some of the local B roads!
That @bradders is cause all us dumbo dike buyers, were led to believe it was all singing, all dancing electronic do feck all else suspension. Believe it or not, a couple of guys at Rapidos knew nothing about it either, I was shocked ?
