pulled into the drive, its on a slight angle (downwards) when approaching me garage, rode in as normal, popped the side stand and cocked leg over, at which point the side stand flipped up and over she went!! suffered a bruised thigh, still completely "dead" since Saturday! Bike suffered as follows, scratched LHS mirror, snapped LHS hand guard, and scratched (deeply) fairing. Saving grace is that I have R&G fitted which saved the water pump and casings! Any advice on repairing the fairing greatfully received?
Sorry to hear that, GWS. Speaking from personal experience, by the time you have faffed around trying to repair and respray the fairing panel, it just isn't cost or time effective. IMO it'll be simpler to just buy a new panel. Andy
I did something similar - thought the side stand was out and lowered the bike whilst standing on the right. It slowly and not very gracefully fell against the garage wall and down on the floor. Broke the screen, but also broke the handguard and scratched the mirror front similar to yours. Those handguards are very flimsy, break easily, and so replacements are readily available. Shop around and you can get one without the blade and indicator - mine cost £61.40 from Moto Rapido. In the past I got one for an earlier 1200 from Germany a bit cheaper than that IIRC. The scratches on the mirror body I carefully smoothed off with fine emery and a brass bristled brush to keep some texture and it looks OK. You can get a special black wax crayon to fill scratches in car bumpers which might help. As for the tank panel, it looks like a professional fill and respray job to me. You do feel a bit of plonka though, don't you?

I was quoted 110-150£ to fix a scratched fairing panel on a panigale in Bristol. Might be worth looking into.
Repair, there's a guy near me in Berkshire who does all the small repairs for the local BMW dealers, I used him on an LC resto project, very good work

That will be an easy repair for someone with the correct tools. My buddy ( he is a professional body shop guy) fixed my Panigale nose fairing that was in 3 pieces with a proper plastic welding machine that welds plastic staples in along the crack. Once he prepped and painted it i couldnt' tell it had been damaged.
Cheers Rob, I think I'm going to touch it up temporarily and look for a proper repair in the winter months. I'm up in Shildon every week so your mate's a good option
Wilco, bike will get repaired over winter, got a Scotland trip and track day looming, leg is ok now just a bit numb
