You can very easily attach an Optimate charging dongle to a Shorai and charge it using the Optimate Lithium charger.
I know of a 1098R that did the same - it can and does happen to Ducati's - you just needed both sides of the story before you make a decision
This is the cable to communicate with the ECU https://www.bikesportdevelopments.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=N-7045
Looks like the Nemesis uses CAN protocol to communicate through the central connector http://www.aim-sportline.com/download/ecu/racing/Nemesis2_102_eng.pdf That means the likes of JPDiag, TuneECU etc won't communicate as they use K-Line.
My apologies spareparts, i mean't original type optimate chargers shouldn't be used. Traditional trickle chargers perfectly fine for Shorai. See www.carrotcycles.co.uk on their Shorai page. An upgrade to mosfet type regulator/ rectifier is a good idea for lithium batteries, which i did 3 years ago.
So, so much awesomeness. Thanks CW- I'll get on to all that tomorrow then hopefully we'll be able to figure out what's what and what's not. Thanks again dude. You massively rock.
I've managed to get hold of a cable but I cannot for the life of me seem to get hold of the ECU software. Everywhere has the TCS software, but not the ECU one (including a couple of people who list it as available). Does anyone here have a copy they could share/ upload/ something else I could have in return for some lovely gratitude and or sweets or cash or oh I don't know whatever you'd like? Please?
Try Mick Boasman. http://www.bikesportdevelopments.co.uk/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1826 Although the Microtec is a better ECU than the Nemesis ECU, he might be able to help you. I think he used to sell them when he was part of MM Comp Systems. http://www.competitionsystems.co.uk/index.htm
