Music .. 3 Questions ?.. .best Band You've Seen Worst ...?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Noods, Aug 28, 2017.

  1. Best = Cream
    Worst = Paul Young
Would have liked to have seen = Thin Lizzy

  2. Best = The Blockheads (energy wise) and Pink Floyd (musically)
Worst = Roy Wood And Wizzard at the Holmfirth Picturedrome. He did 40 mins on stage and finished. He wouldn't come back on for an encore as (in his words to a lady after the gig) they'd " been contracted to do 40 minutes so that's what we've done"
Would like to have seen = Thin Lizzy and Black Sabbath
Act that I didn't want to see but surprised me most = Sophie Ellis Bexter Really (good voice and interacted with the audience well) and Mike and the Mechanics (I thought they'd be quite bland but they not only did M and the M stuff but also Genesis stuff and Roachford stuff, as Andrew Roachford is one of the lead singers nowadays)

  5. Ha that sounds like Elton the syrup John at Ipswich this year ( not that I went mind ). He was 90 minutes late on stage did 50 minutes and that was your lot.. apparently.. probably worried as to what his partner was up to behind his back! Again allegedly ..

  6. Best - The Amimals (in The Pick & Shovel pub, Coalville. No Burdon, but still the best £10 I ever spent).....or maybe Alan Price (HK Jazz club, but then again, maybe I was really really pissed ?)
Worst - Labi Siffre (he was booed off stage after 10 mins)
Would have liked to have seen - The Beatles and Led Zep

  7. See them 4 times. Hyde Park AHM. Rainbow playing darkside before release. Earls Court 73 6th row, and the Wall earls court 80. Get to V&A exhibition if you can.

  8. Wow! TBH I've only got into them in last 2 yrs or so ...

  9. Forgot about him. When #2 son was the facilities manager at the Leeds arena when it first opened he managed to get us tickets for a few gigs for free. Elton John was shit. He is so far up his own arse (feat in itself) he likes the view. And he can't sing now to save his life.

  10. Ha... luv your words mte .. I can't believe people are so prepared to shell out their hard earned to see him... I bet he, she, sh it, is one big girly diva too..

  11. Best: Foo Fighters @ MK Bowl.

Worst: Shaun Ryder supporting The Charltons.

Time travel gig. Led Zeppelin circa 1969.

  13. Best. Fleetwood Mac
    Worst. Family
    Should have. Jackson Browne

  14. 1 Genesis - last tour at old Trafford, utterly brilliant
2 Michael Bolton - there with ex missus, he was terrible as he only did an hour on stage and kept disappearing off at that! ( thought he'd got a bad cas of the runs)
    3 Pink Floyd
