Shit mate that is fooking painful, I am lucky in the fact that I am playing with raw data, maps bought from OS so layering structure is always the same, frame template I import to also follows strict layering dictates so very easily manageable. I can set the script running at 5pm lock my machine come in the following morning and it has processed 13,000 files. God knows how long that would take me if I had to do it manually.
Now you understand why I hates them. They add to my workload needlessly because they cannot be arsed to be accurate. You should see some of the GAs they produce from their 3D Revit models. When you zoom right in at junctions of wall and partition, theres holes everywhere and partitions through walls, ceiling and floors. Its only a bit of stud wall ffs. Thats if the effin partition is at 90°, which they never are. Its all basic cad errors and bad workmanship. All they are interested in is presentation, yet these drawings are passed on down the line to contractors etc. Who themselves have to use them. It all cascades. It destroys BIM and adds cost. Plus it annoys the fek outta me as I work to 100% accuracy as my CFD will fall over and it can take eons to find the errors. So I fix first.

If its wrong at the begining its wrong all the way through is a very apt statement. I wouldnt want to live in house done by those architects it would let to many draughts in The nature of the industry I am in is gas and the construction of networks, so the guys on the ground as they lay the pipe at intervals they are taking measurements from a fixed point (building line) but I am trying to push the industry to enforce the use of GPS equipment at mm accuracy. The reason being is if tha building is knocked down and then rebuilt but 1mtr further back from its original position my as laid drawing is fucking worthless from health and safety point of view and HSE will come down on us like a ton of bricks and wont accept no excuses for the lack of accuracy.
