You have a garage now! You didn't say? Pics or it's still the ramshackle old dog kennel you patched up a while back
Today is the tenth anniversary of my grandad's death. I'll never forget his dying words - "are you sure you're still holding the ladder ?"
I pick up the bike tomorrow, basically brand new again, total bill was just over 12K & my portion was only the $100 deductible, new oil, coolant & 1 hour labour to fix other various small things so only $260.00
I was at a seminar this morning at a lovely hotel in an absolutely beautiful setting near Wakefield. And I'd never heard of it. This afternoon I was dealing with dross in the office. Tonight I'm going climbing.
I’m sat avoiding the hoards of kids and parents at a college open evening It’s something I really should be avoiding but my poor daughter has to do without me quite often so I felt I owed it to her to attend I’m in reception by the door trying to avoid the coughs going on Talk about stressing
well, yesterday, but discovered 'ignore thread' coz I cant out up with that trolling wanker any more.
Same fella. Been banging on for cple years and he’s back. Life’s too short to listen tbh so avoid where I can as it winds me up more than it should. And it was the context of the thread: just showed what an insular prick he is and I wouldn’t want to keep get notifications.
Managed to kill my phone line and lost my internet. That slowed work down a bit this morning. I had previously moved the broadband, part of the renovation works, so crimped on a new RJ11. All was well until someone messed about with it. It had been running on an extension since. Sorted it in the end. Had to use a spare hub. Mrs was not impressed that we might not have the internet or land line working... we work from home out of hours. I was trying to make the house a bit less of a building site, in-laws visiting this weekend. Picked up a new bigger suit for a wedding next weekend. Just want this cold to go now. Need to start sorting my bikes out they all need something doing. Want to do some track days next year.
Had a superb day at work today, Working at the West Wing at Silverstone preparing a few cars for this weekends Porsche sale with Silverstone Auctions. Plenty of highlights but this one stands out as bit of an icon for me and detailing it ready for sale was pure pleasure. 2 of us with limited time managed to enhance the paintwork by machining polishing to remove the swirls and greatly increase the gloss levels. Would love to have spent a couple of days on this. 1998 Porsche 911 (993) Turbo S. This was a UK supplied car and one of only 26 built in right-hand drive. It's estimate is £245,000 - £285,000! In Ocean blue with grey leather and carbon fibre trim it looked just perfect. A Carlsberg day for me.
Just picked up my almost brand new (motor) bike running like a dream now breaking it in for the 1st 600 miles “1000kms” Also looky what was in the showroom...
I needed some milk this morning, so I went round to my neighbours and asked them through the letter box. "We're all out," they replied. "Feck off," I said. "I can hear you in there."
