V4 ‘19 Or ‘20 V4s

  1. Bit of quandary, although nice problem to have.

Was looking at a ‘20 V4S when dealer offered me a brand new ‘19 V4S for a saving of approx 5k!

I’m aware of the differences between the model years, wondering if the ‘20 is worth the extra 5k

    your thoughts please.

  2. Just to avoid any confusion that’s $5000gbp (9300nzd).

  3. The 2020 model year bike is said to be easier to ride (and slightly quicker) but some have said the engine has lost some of its edge. I’ve not ridden the 2020 so cannot comment on the differences between it and my ‘19 V4S. I did fit a Ducati race fairing kit for the V4R to mine so it looks like the 2020MY if you must have wings. £5k is a big discount, if it were me, I’d bite their arm off. Andy

  4. I went 2020 because of the fundamental upgrades, but don't bother with the S ..... spend the extra on some non electric suspension and better looking mag wheels......

  5. he's just trying to shift new old stock........research it as I'm sure you have there are a few about!

  6. Ive got the 2020 V4S but got it for 21k Ex demo, 500miles on it). If I was in your position I’d go for the 19 model for 5k cheaper, get an exhaust and the upgraded electronics of the 20 model (£400) and still have saved 2k

  7. Depends what you want out of a bike.

the 2020 is said to be easier to ride but they’ve changed the mapping and cut the torque in certain areas of the power range in some gears. Which makes it less exciting but easier to manage.

I’ve always wanted my Ducati’s to be mental personally

  8. I wouldn’t swap my 19 for something easier even at the same price, so for £5k saving it’s a no brainer.

  10. Thanks for the replies. Yes am leaning toward the cheaper option... I dont think for ME the ‘20 is worth the extra money + I just dont know about the wings!!
How is the fit/ ergonomics of the two? Im 6’3” , hear the ‘20 has a bigger screen and tank slightly different. This nay make a difference for me. Will have to check them out when I can. Thanks once again for your input. I had a TLR so not too worried about ride ability, most things would be a luxury after that thing.

  11. You Sir, need a 1098R. You’re probably one of the few people with the skill set to use one properly as well....

  12. Can you bring me a beer and a deck chair for the gravel trap at T1

    thanks mate

  13. I’m 6ft 4. Any sports bike for me is horrendous on the road in a straight line for more than an hour.

The V4S isn’t comfy, I have one also. I fucking hate riding it around town and any speed under 40mph, is just a lumpy annoying ball ache.

I used to own a TLR also a couple of years ago actually, for shits and giggles.

Get the cheaper option, get a full Termi 4Uscite system, decent wheels and get the thing on track....

  14. I’m 6’4” and reckon that the Ducati V4R track bodywork that I put on my 2018 V4S made a big difference as it’s wider and the same as now fitted to the 2020 V4 range. I also fitted a +30mm WRS race screen which also makes a big difference. The V4 is a bigger riding position than my 1098R so is the more comfortable of the two. Andy

  15. The difference between the bikes is night and day. I've had the 'old' shape and the new one with wings. It's like riding a completely different bike. Newer one feels smoother, more agile and the q/s more accurate. I had that many issues with my original bike Ducati just replaced it
