As Arnie said in the film “Predator “… I knew the “even pig-uglier than the last Superduke “ reminded me of something?? Jeez, who is in charge of styling at KTM, it’s like they deliberately don’t want people to buy their bikes so they make them as ugly as possible !!
The RC8, and even the 125 sports bike were different, stood out and looked good for that reason - but that, not even its mother could love that surely
Good point ..the RC8 wasn’t a bad looking sports bike and it had adjustable bars and footpegs so you could tailor the bike to suit you. Now what they should do is resurrect that bike, refresh the styling so it looks like their MotoGP bikes, update the electronics on it and bung the new 1390 engine in that ,….bosh!! Instant sales hit, now that would appeal to me
And yet they sell. KTM motorbike sales 2022: 375492 Revenue 2.437 billion Ugly is apparently good for business.
How very dare you!!!!! We KTM riders adore our bikes for the riding thereof. Tis why we ride all year round not just sunny days…….
Even you must admit DS,..it’s a bit “aesthetically challenged “ It almost looks as though the clear front has dropped off the headlamp can you imagine the bugs that thing will scoop in and then trying to clean it afterwards?…oh, I forgot..KTM riders don’t clean their bikes do they !!
After owning 3 SuperDukes,and loving the brand KTM...... Even I have to admit,the front headlight cluster is rotten as hell !!!! I got to see it in all its glory at the NEC,and the picture does not do it justice..... Rotten !!!!!
I honestly like the headlight better than the one fitted to my 790. There are a few on the 790 page wanting to retro fit the new light from the 990. There will be someone who produced a cover like there is for the 790 headlight. You cheeky frogger mine gets cleaned after every ride.
Just imagine how may they’d sell if they looked good! I’d consider one if they weren’t so bloody ugly. I just couldn’t pay good money for a bike with a Preying Mantis headlight. Who in the design team thinks it’s a good look? And yet they’re sticking with it.
Love the RC8 in any colour, pity KTM stopped making race reps. Last trackday I did there were 3 there.
I don't actually mind the look of the headlight unit, but I don't fancy cleaning the crud out of it after a wet ride.
