02 manipulators

  1. Whats peoples thoughts on these ?

Since getting multi have noticed low speed surging, the website says it cures this ??

  2. Fat Ducs

I had these on my MTS 1200 prior to re-map and they made a massive difference
    to the surging problem.
    A damn site cheaper than a re-map.
There are some on ebay now.

  3. O2 manipulators

    Hi guys!
Just joined site after the demise of ducatisti
They are my O2 manipulators on e bay
No longer required as I have bitten the bullet and had a complete remap!
Must say though... They were a great improvement to my bike when I fitted them, a very cost effective solution to the surging and snatchy throttle some of us have experienced
Dead easy to fit, u won't be disappointed if your bidding on them I'm sure

  4. Two lots on at the moment, was waiting for some feedback before placing bids on them both

  5. My understanding....and I don't proclaim to be an expert....is that they work in different ways....

The Fat Ducs change the voltage coming from the O2 sensors (thus you need two fat ducs, thus more costly....approx 150 usd) thereby fooling the ecu into thinking the mixture is leaner than it actually is...the ecu counters by enriching the air fuel mixture, reducing the surging and spluttering at low rpm....

The O2 manipulators work on the temperature sensor of the bike, telling the ecu that the motor is still in a cold state...the ecu therefore enriches the mixture....a bit like riding with the choke on in the old days before electronic gadgetry....you only need one....so less expensive, but the down side apparently is that the temperature indicator on the dash doesn't work correctly.

I bought the fat ducs from the states....Her Majesty's government stung me for 30 quid import duties....so what I gained on the exchange rate I lost in taxes/duties....grrrr still smarting....and they did not make a huge difference.....

Yesterday I fitted a Mivv de cat mid pipe, and this has made a huge huge difference....I can actually ride at low rpm with out feeling like Noddy bobbing my head all the time because the bikes rpm is hunting for the correct position...

So this is the set up now: Mivv de cat mid pipe, BR baffle, standard end can/exhaust, fat ducs fitted. Next step....I need to get rid of the exvl error and then off to Chris near Bristol for a remap.

Good luck with your O2 manipulators....let us know how you get on:)

  6. "I need to get rid of the exvl error and then off to Chris near Bristol for a remap."
Give Chris a call to confirm but I'm pretty sure he can kill the EXVL error via a tweak of the ECU whilst doing the remap.

  7. See you've finally made it then Mark! Did you go down to Bristol?

  8. I'm sure the 'fatducs' and the O2 manipulators are one and the same....

well fatduc.com is the site and the O2 manipulator is the product - I guess fatducs is just a nickname for the manipulators....

  9. Hi Bob,

Yeah, finally found my way on!

    Hope your keeping well

Yeah took bike down to CJS at Bristol, done a great job! Have to meet up, and we can compare sometime if you like?

  10. Yep we'll have to - would be good to hear what was involved and how it has affected the bike

  11. Im off this weeked, so weather permitting, might get chance to get out? Ill drop u a line if i do Bob

  12. Mark, have you bothered fitting an after market air filter?

  13. Yeah fitted a K and N a while ago

  14. Plus 1 on the fat ducs, I have them fitted with a Mivv Suono and they make a big difference. Not perfect but near enough that I don't need to consider a remap.

  15. Yes you are correct Andy....contacted Chris yesterday....he will magic away the exvl error, will remove the need for the fat ducs (so watch the classifieds as I will be giving the forum first option) and remap the ecu....all for a paltry £495....personally I think this is money well spent.....So 21st of April I'll be Bristol way :upyeah:

  16. Yeah, Chris will deactivate the EVXL servo motor operation all toghether, therefore you waont get any warning light on the dash

  17. Mark did you get any errors on the dash before going down to Bristol?

I don't get any, I do make sure the spring mechanism is cleaned regularly though!

  18. No Bob never got any, once i had set it up correctly when i fitted the QD

As you know i dislogged the cable when i fitted the exhaust out of the servo motor, and this caused me a bit of grieve, but never had any issues after that....

  19. Give me a shout nearer the time, may be able to meet up with you ;-)

  20. You guys that have had these fitted, is it true that once fitted it screws up the temperature reading ?
