As it's a damp'n'foggy day here in the Highlands, I'm getting around to suspension setup on my NTM '04 749R. Rear spring rate I can easily enough read from the spring code, but I can't find anything on the OEM fork spring rate (assuming of course that it has OEM springs…). The R manual appears to be a pretty poor cut-n-paste from the standard 749 Manual - for instance it quotes front preload as "10mm" which would be for the base model's Showas, not for the Ohlins, which of course don't change their top protrusion as you change preload. So, while it quotes suspension stroke of 120mm F/56mm R, can anyone confirm that this is indeed for the R? Thanks!
hi mate,, nice enough day here in peterheaad but prob not good enough for a softie like me to be out on a bike,,, wondering where in the highlands you are,, I am hoping to have a 749 my self soon tho it will be an S and not an R, just waiting to get some issues sorted first,, fortunately money is not one of them but a safe secure dry place to keep it is a prob, especially as it will be spending the majority of its life laid up , so we may well meet up sometime... love the heeland / west coast roads ........ oh sorry, cat help with spring ratios / settings
