  1. Evening everyone..just hoping for a bit of advice regarding running problems with my bike..had it since lockdown but it seemed to run a bit rough..(missing and juddering etc) once i'd been out for about an hour..i then put a Termi end can on and de catted the horizontal pipe and obv the prob was still there so i haven't really used it...last week i got the Ecu flashed by a local company hoping that the problem might be sorted but after about 10 mins of riding the problem seems even worse...around town the bike wont hold constant throttle and is popping and banging and seems to nearly die but then catches itself and cracks on..if you give it a handfull..it really goes well but slow speeds it's ready for dieing..so..i have changed the plugs to NGKs and had a look at the coil sticks (these are the newer ones with the tail) but tbh i dont really know what to do next..do i buy new coils in the hope it's them breaking down..also should the place that did the ECU reset the TPS? Could it be the TPS that's causing this..the guys said it had gained about 3 hp after he had flashed the ECU so would a fault with coils show up on the dyno? the bike has got 18000 on it and had belts done about 1000 miles ago..hope you guys can shed a bit of light on it....cheers..

  2. Have you checked the manifolds for cracks?

  3. Fuel pump relay?
    Rectifier?

  4. Hi Chris..thanks for replying.. i haven't yet but i will look tomorrow i was just going through older posts and trying to see what others solutions people had found and coils and plugs seemed to be the place to start..do you think the TPS should have been reset on the reflash or isn't it something they would do..
    Cheers

  5. Hi Ricky..thanks for replying...i will check the rectifier tomorrow i yhink there's a vid on you tube recently on how to do it..the fuel pump fires up fine and as mentioned if you belt it through the box..it rides really well..it's just on constant throttle it's all over the place..i had it sat in the garage on 2000rpm snd the rev counter was bouncing about between 1500 and upt to 3500..but missing and juddering seemingly about to stall but at the last second catching itself?

  6. A TPS reset is recommended after any ECU work but not essential. Go through the free stuff first. Check the throttle body to cylinder rubbers for leaks as well

  7. Will do..i'm gonna spend a full day on it tomorrow in the hope something cheap and easy to replace jumps out at me..cheers m8..:upyeah:

  8. The pump relay can cause all sorts of strange issues. They are something that you need to keep in your toolbox as a spare. Cheap off eBay.
The relay is located in the most ridiculous place behind the battery box however it is on a sufficiently long lead to allow it to be relocated to a empty square rubber grommet at the front upper of the battery box. It’s as though that was where it was meant to be!

  9. What do you mean by "flash"?

I'd start with simple things like checking/clearing the air filter and replace the fuel filter.

TPS is quick and easy and worth doing.

  10. Evening everyone..just a quick update..i got a call from the guys who did the ECU and explained what was going on regarding the rough running ,so they asked me to bring it back to check the TPS reset was done...so once there, they did a reset and after a half hour blast when i got home..i'm pretty sure it's all sorted..no stalling no running rough just nice and smooth through the box and round town..i stopped a couple of times to let it get hot just to see if it would misbehave but it didn't seem to make any difference..so as it stands atm..i'm really happy it's sorted out .so a massive thank you to everyone that commented on the post trying to help me out..really apreciate it..i will keep you posted if anything changes..cheers guys..
