Having a wee is OK, but the moment you need a dump, you realise the mistake of wearing a one-piece....... ..........first of all, you have to get it off your shoulders (do that before you enter the cubicle......more space outside).... ......then fold the arms across your torso and enter the cubicle......(bolt the door BTW) ......now you have to drop the whole lot down your legs, but of course in the heat they are stuck to you and the leg protectors and boots stop them from going right down...... .......but if you don't you could end up dumping inside the back of the suit........ ........so having forced them down, you then find the arms, rigid with the armour are stuck out and trailing in the pee all over the floor............. .........and when you finally get to move 'substance' you find out too late that your legs aren't far enough apart, so you run the risk of a very messy a*se when it comes to wiping yourself..... ..........then when you start to pull them up again, you get the suit back over your shoulders and walk out looking all smug in your nice one piece with wet cuffs......... When you get home, you find you have missed the pan when you chucked the paper down it and you find two pieces of scrunched up paper inside.........
Haha yeah I'm sold on a 2 piece now. It will be mostly road riding. I tried a one piece on and couldn't get it off, my mate who I was with almost wet himself laughing at me trying to get it off. 2 piece it is thanks guys
I usually ride in a one piece on the road. I just feel more secure and comfortable in them, but only when on the bike. Off you look like some sort neanderthal with bent knees and arms and a baggy arse not a good look, more chimp than man. Arquebus is bang on, a pee is not a prob, but go for a shit before you don it. As far as getting them on and off they get easier with practice and a good undersuit is a must if you don't want them to stick to you or end up with them honking. Anybody ever tried the bib type Dainese brought out a while back, if you think normal one pieces were bad these were a zillion times worse. To go for a pee with them you had to drop the whole suit to your knees, bloody awful.
Btw crash in a 2 piece and slide for any distance and expect a lovely ring of purple where the zip sorts you out..
2piece!Deffo for the road. Also when warm, you can take the jacket off when youre having that cold lager!
1 piece you know if your sliding down the road you want them. 1 piece, good boots, arai rx 7 gp helmet etc etc
I'm a huge fan of the one piece, looks better, better protection, fit better and far more comfortable. Yes, they are a bit of a pain going to the loo (though no trouble peeing) and I strongly recommend an under suit of some type, otherwise they are very difficult to get out of when hot. If the cost of an undershot puts you off, a long sleeve compression top and leggings works just as well.
Just to add, spend some time finding what cut fits you properly, a good colour match is irrelevant if you are the wrong shape. A saggy bum is the best give away that it's not cut for you, a suit should be snug everywhere without choking, pinching or restricting you in any way. If the suit is right for you the stretch panels should do all of the moving as opposed to you moving inside the suit. Look at moto gp rides, especially Marquez. His suit fits very snugly yet he is not restricted on the bike in any way - it's all about getting the stretch panels in the right place
Dainese zip together well. My old Furygan were only half zipped. If I had the money I'd buy a nice made to measure Kushitani 2 piece. Had a set of gloves and it were like wearing velvet. Mate wears a one piece when we go to the alps and is always moaning at cafe stops and piss stops.
I've always had a 1 piece but last year I got caught short as I was running across Stratford town centre looking for a toilet with king kongs finger trying to exit my arse.trying to get the one piece down was a nightmare.i always keep a spare of boxers under my pillion seat now, just in case lol
I've got both now. Prefer the 1 piece though as it fits better. Both are alpinestars but the 2 piece feels like the trousers are weighing the jacket down. The 1 piece I have is the alpinestars orbiter the zip curves round a little rather than straight up which makes getting it on and off easier
I find that 1 pieces give you more mobility on the bike so that I can ride better on twisty roads - typically Alpine style roads. 2 piece is obviously more practical. So I have both and choose depending on what I'm doing and where I'm going.
