Hey Tried a onesie suit on for the first time yesterday, Spada something or other. Felt ok round everywhere apart from arse up to back of the neck which was really tight. Sat on a bike and not so bad but still felt like it was pulling down the back of my neck. It has a race hump. Is this normal for a onesie? Will it stretch/bed in? Ta
It'll stretch over a few weeks. I'll wear a new one around the house for a bit to stretch it. Get an undersuit, onesies are an absolute pig to get off when you've sweated. This gets a bit panicky when your busting for the loo!!
So, not being able to stand up straight is ok? When they go up in size, obviously the waist/chest goes up but does the length/height?
Hmm, I've always been able to stand up straight. To what extent was it prohibiting you? By its nature you'll want it as tight as possible as it will give but not to the extent it's compressing your shoulders and buttocks. Where did you try it on as most clothing staff should be able to advise you on fit. Bought a Laguna seca in the summer that was quite tight but really moulded after a few squats and some long rides.

Try a few different brands, too - they are all cut slightly differently. Ultimately though, yes, it will break in and become more comfortable. I absolutely swear by one piece suits, so much better on the bike. Modern suits fit much better than they used to right off the bat due to stretch panels, as well as cordura at the crotch , arms, and legs which aids movement. The downside is that unless it's about 14 degrees or warmer the suit can be quite cold. I'd absolutely agree about the value of a good under suit, or a long sleeve compression top / running tight combo (available on eBay for not too much money) as they make putting the suit on and taking it off much easier. I've actually just ordered a suit without any cordura or perforations for spring and autumn- it's going to need breaking in like suits of old, but will be a lot warmer.
When a bit chilly I wear this stuff. V. Thin. Keeps in some heat whilst keeping out the wind. Seems to vent reasonably well too. Not yer ordinary boil in the bag at least. Suit slips over it easy enough, too - better than most baselayers I've found. Allows a one piece suit where perhaps conditions would dictate otherwise and avoids the need for thicker baselayers.
