Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has any experience of heavier springs for the rear shock in a MTS 1200 with the Showa shock rather than the Ohlins? I am a bit on the heavy side for it and when I have a pillion on board its definitely too much for the spring. Would the 100nm Ohlins spring fit? any suggestions?
Yes, Ohlins springs will fit the Sachs rear shock (it's not a Showa ) no problem. Don't limit yourself to the DES option spring though, go and see a suspension specialist and get the right setup for your needs. I have a 115 spring on mine.
Thanks Doodle, of course it's a Sachs shock, don't know what I was thinking when I typed that? I never thought about getting a custom one done simply because I'm in Belfast and there is nowhere over here does such a thing? I'm about 125kg and my pillion is around 75kg so the 85nm spring is totally overloaded. Where did you get your 115? I'm guessing Maxton or Hyperpro?
Nope, off the shelf Ohlins spring. You're probably after something similar to my setup then by the looks of things, I had mine done by Darren Wnukoski over in Stowmarket. Are ProLink Racing still going? I think McCallens are also a Ohlins dealer.
