Will the cylinders for the 1098 fit a 999r bottom end? As I'm having trouble finding the bits i need to build my engine and can't afford bits when they do appear. Thanks
I believe the 1098 cylinders are slight different and therefore not interchangeable. I’m not an expert so could be wrong though.
when i looked i thought they were very similar, the bit that completes the belt guard was bolted to the 999R ones and cast as part of the 1098 ones...
find some 749r heads and get them slightly modded by CJS/louigi moto they can get ~ 160 RWBHP & 80+ ft/lbs torque without changing anything else in the stretta engine
i believe the stud spacing on the 749R heads is different to the stud spacing of the 104mm bore engine!
of course the 749R cams will, with a bit of jiggerypoking fit into the various heads for a worthy gain...
