  1. Hey guys, anyone try the Armstrong wavy front brake disks? Mine O/E are warped and I dont wanna pony up for brembo's

  2. Personally, I wouldn't use any wavy discs, on any bike. The stock Brembos are 330mm as well as being lightweight. To my mind you'll only get 320's aftermarket. Even the Brembo HPK stuff is 320 and this will, if only slightly degrade the braking performance. A heavier disc will increase unsprung and wheel weight. Again, only by a small amount but will affect the handling....
At the end of the day, the stock brakes are awesome, and saving money in that area just doesn't make sense IMO. Buy new from Ducati and you get a warranty to boot.

  3. spud whats happening with the discs. I thought mine were warped and I ended up freeing the( not sure of the name ) mounting points between the disks and carriers, then used emery to clean the surface of the discs then a wipe of the surface with brake cleaner followed by servicing the monoblocks and they are now fine.

  4. Thanks I'll try the service method before replacing them.

  5. I thought the point of wavey discs was to help dissipate temperature to help reducing warp, which is why Kwak went wavey

  6. The discs that Kwack used Matt, were more petal than wavey. The edges and shape were much less aggressive. Conventional discs use drillings to dissipate the gases and heat. Waveys IMO offer nothing much more than excessive pad wear and they still warp as many other than a few leading brands are lesser quality.
tbh, if they are such a revelation they'd be all over the GP, WSB and BSB grids by now ;)

  7. True. Kwaks are somewhat known for warping front discs on their 90's and 00's bikes. I thought petal and wavey were pretty much the same. I replaced my warped originals on my ZX7R for non wavey some EBC pro lites. Very nice they are indeed too

  8. Even if they are bent/ warped there are one or two company out there which offer a straightening service.... No need to buy more!?!?
