Hi I've just bought a 07 1098, it has Akrapovic slip ons and the dash read out says 1098 TPS. I've already done a lot of reading and I know you can make it say whatever you want. The bike is really lumpy at low revs in 1st and 2nd gear and I've had a twin before so I know what they ride like but this seems a lot worse!!! could this be because it has a standard ECU in and would it make such a difference if the slip on one was installed?? On the second part if I do need a different ECU can I buy a second hand one and just put it in or does it have to be programmed to the bike? Thanks for your time...
Does it say 1098 SBK TSE? That is a standard map. There are no immo issues with the ECUs. If you buy a correct DP one it will work out of the box. Any IAW5AM can be converted to the correct DP mapping. Just need to find someone who can reflash
Ah... But... Its worth the trip.... Chris i would say is the best. Get there early morning.... Itll spend a day on the dyno and youll be laughing all the way home.... The fuel mapping is just one of the mods that he does...
Read my thread here Hunty, very similar to your woes - 1198s Is Embarrassing Me! | Ducati Forum I have a spare ecu should you need one.
Where did you get your ECU from and was it written for you or was it the standard slip on ECU? I look like an idiot trying to go round a roundabout at the minute is your spare ECU a standard one?
I have 2 spare now, mainly due to problems with my other bike and being led up the garden path. The last one i got was from a local dealer. It didn't matter what was on it as i knew i would send it to Chris to be flashed. Think it was an 1198 standard map on it - it was for my 999.
