1098 front forks

  1. Previous owner had the cable ties around the fork legs. After my first real ride last weekend I noticed the cable ties are only about 3/4" from the bottom. Do i need to stiffen them up or is that acceptable after riding on roads with pot holes etc?

  2. Still a bit hard. another half inch to go. Track riding would probably see that reduced to the 1/4 .

  3. try and get it to use pretty much all the travel.

  4. But maybe not on road...use all te travel and if you hit a bump at full lean, worse still while braking, and the only suspension left is rubber often quickly followed by leather and skin imo. Sounds about roght for the road to me or as cranker says a good 1/4" for track

  5. Dont get fooled by them though. Are they tight enough, they might have worked down on their own accord.

  6. The fork sliders shouldn't go right down to the bottom of the leg as they will lock solid when you get about 5mm from the base.
