1098 In A Vito

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by darko, Jul 15, 2014.

  1. Does anyone know if a 1098 will fit in the back of a Vito Sport Compact ?

I was looking at the dimensions online but they give the load length as going slightly under the front seat ! Not exactly useful..

I think it will go but the paddock stand may just increase the length too much

    Any help much appreciated !

  2. You don't need a paddock stand for a bike in a van, just suitable tie downs from the bike radiating outwards, hold the bike upright and tighten each a bit at a time and it will stay upright. Did it on my own a few times now and if you take your time it will be fine.

  4. Got my old fuglystrada into a Vito once the top fairing was removed, so a 1098 should go in there.

  5. Yes it will. I've got a 1098 and it goes in my SWB 204 Sport. I remove the single rear seat and shove it in backwards (rear wheel first). It wont fit mounted on the paddock stands. I strap it down alone then pack all the other stuff around it.

  6. thanks Mary, good to know. The Vito Sport Im looking at only has 2 front seats with a big gap between them so I think I might get a bit of extra space that way too. Just measured the bike and its 230cm inc the paddock stand and the van measures 225cm from the back of the driver's seat to the closed rear doors
