1098 Top Yoke Thread Details?

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by marge1963, May 24, 2023.

  1. Hi,
Do all 1098’s top yokes have a threaded hole? I am after the thread size of mine shown below. I have tried to measure it with a thread gauge, but can not get a definitive answer. I am getting a ram mount made for my Sat navigation.

    Thanks

  2. Where exactly is that hole? Picture too close up to see where it is.

  3. It looks like the fork stem top nut. Someones drilled and tapped it by the look of things. Its not oem.

  4. Okay. That’s what I had been told. thought I would check with the group. Thanks

  7. Thanks. That’s the guy I am in touch with. He is offering to make one with the thread to fit mine.

  8. you can get a range of rubber grommets, they fit snug and as you torque it up it squishes tight into whatever size hole

  9. If your putting a quadlock on and a fancy phone with gadget camera on it, buy the antivibe kit too...otherwise you'll be getting your phone fixed. Dont ask me how I know.

  10. Anti vibe kit? Where are the details for this? It sounds like a good idea.

  13. If you have an iphone with fancy autofocus motors in it, you will be paying to get your phone fixed. >£200

  14. That’s cool. Thanks for the advice. It’s for a Garmin Sat Nav, but given the vibration from the vee twin, I think it will be worth it.
