Did the 1098R currently for sale at Snells of Alton previously belong to a member of this forum ? Got permutations for next year running around my head and I'd be interested in a bit of personal history of the bike. Thanks, Andy
Traditionally the R models reach half their new cost before climbing again (rough guide only) - wonder when / if these are going to get there - seems they are bottoming out rather high! A low mileage one owner example did sell on Ebay a few months ago on auction around £13k so that one was nearly there. :Wideyed:
Saw that one when i got my bike in March, think it was done for AMA racing in the USA but never happened, was it up for 27k with black Desmo forks.
It was, iirc, a guy who chucked all the right bits at it incl desmo forks, top notch bolt ons, blueprinted motor, cams the business and was on sale or return along with the same guys desmo
My mate bought it. 17.3k. What a bike! as said, a desmo front end and all sorts of lovliness chucked at it. He had a trackday with it yesterday at Croft. We're off to Donington on 28th with NL... Wooo- hoooo...
Was that you @Fastmonkey with the 848 in having some work done before a foreign track day? I was there with my Speed Triple talking to Dave
yes mate that was me, nice to meet you there. Having a belt service, 40t rear sprocket and q/r carrier and Accossato quick action throttle done. Then it's off to Almeria
