I'm not sure if my 1098r clutch is perfectly healthy. I've had slipper clutches before but this one feels slightly strange. the clutch lever has very good resistance and pressure. it's also been bled to be sure there's no air in the system. I can feel the clutch pulses through the lever. occasionally I also feel a 'click' through the lever on down changes. the gearbox itself feels a little notchy at lower RPM. it's the stock ducati slipper clutch and I've never used one of there's before so unsure how it's meant to feel. does this sound normal for a 1098r?
Ive had STM slippers on my old 1198 and a Sigma on my 1299 currently. What you describe above seems normal to me. Apart from the notchy.
TBH thats to the letter what i get from mine on the odd occasion i ride it . The faster and harder you ride them the less you feel all that.
Sounds like fairly normal behaviour. Notchiness could be due to wear in basket or drum or stack. Have you greased the balls and ramps?
not as yet but I shall check if its been greased when it was serviced recently. cheers for the input chap's! it's put my mind at ease it isn't about to explode!
That's perfectly normal and the same feeling I get. When you have the slightest pressure on the lever, when the slipper action is even a tiny bit, it pushes on the rod, hence the pulsing. Mine is also notch. My slipper clutch hub doesn't have any cush drive rubber in it.
Sounds pretty familiar/correct to me. Though I might add- quite often when I changed the pack, the spider spring would be bust. Which won’t have been helping things…
