  1. Just been following a few threads on t'internet and there is a 2008 1098R for sale at M&S Motorcycles in Newcastle upon Tyne. Done 16650 miles, 2 owners, supplied and serviced by M&S, asking £12495. No connection but know the bike is on a few bucket lists. Andy

  2. And there is a Bayliss for £21499 in Plymouth. Andy

  3. There's also one for £16,500 and covered 4,400 miles in coventry

  4. I think the M&S one has been around a while now.

  5. Surprised by that, I know the mileage could be considered a bit high but £12.5k with history is a lot less than some of the asking prices we have been discussing recently. Andy

  6. It's a bike I keep looking at as if like a 1098R. Mileage is my factor which puts me off as I put about 4K a year so it'll soon be over 20k miles which in my eyes limits your market when I fancy a swap. I'd always hoped that 1098r would have dipped to £10k before starting to rise but no such luck.

  7. It's been there a long time. Originally up for £13995 but was taken off the sale list as Ian would have kept it. Looks like he's changed his mind. I've had lustful looks quite a few times over the past two years - looks OK to the untrained eye.

  8. To the chap on his way back to Ireland with the 1098r on his trailer, that you have just purchased, your bike is the cleanest motorbike I have ever laid my eyes on, you are a lucky man.

  9. My local dealer. I've bought bikes from Ian and he's just serviced my 3 Ducatis.

This bike has been around a while. The original owner is an older guy who loves his Ducatis. He uses them but looks after them. It was in the shop for a while a couple of years back when the original owner decided to sell it. I think the milage put a few people off at the time and it hasn't went up much since. It's got the odd stone chip but it's well worth the asking price imo.

The Bayliss is a nice bike.

  10. Hindsight is a wonderful thing Mick, I cringe when I think back to what I've let things go for in the past. Hence my recent decision to hang onto my bikes from now on. It may make getting the next one a little slower process though. :Meh:

  11. That's been for sale for must be 2 years nigh on. My mate almost bought it but got dicked about by M&S right at the end. So he walked. He ended up buying that beauty at Snells a while back. I think he paid about 17.5k but the spec was amazing with a Desmo front end. Cracking bike for the money.

  12. Its now sold

  13. Is that the one being taken away this morning from JHP?

  14. What do you know ? ;) Andy

  15. Yes thats the one, it was a private sale, not purchased from JHP but they looked after the bike all its life,it can only be described as concourse and i would have purchased it without a doubt if i had known about it,the new owner was very happy and i dont blame him.

I know i was pissed off,as i would of loved this bike as JHP have looked after it from new and it was stated it was the best 1098r they look after, credit to its previous owner.

  16. Cheers simmytt, I'm delighted with it to be fair. It's a credit to the previous owner - he minded it like a baby !
Spent 2 Hrs cleaning & giving it the once over yesterday and it is mint !
One owner from new, 4,700 miles, FSH with JHP, full system & a few other small bits as well.
    Roll on the good weather...............
