  1. New to the world of Ducati, looking at putting a 1098R into my collection.
    Whats a fair price?

    Private Good: £10,590
    Private Average: £8,950
    Private Poor: £7,030
    Part Exchange: £9,860
    Trade: £9,129
The bikes out there bear little or no relation to this price guide, are they that sort after?

  2. Look at the market. They're between 12 and 25k. I own one and know them inside out. There are so many variables attached to buying one. Generally speaking though no matter how hard they've been used they'll have been well maintained and pampered.

  3. Assuming near mint condition you got to be looking at 16K really nice one, high milers 12-13k, I think in the future the lower miles examples will be worth a stack of cash

  4. They were a true homologation sbk, so there is a lot of potential in the hardware of the R. Out of the box, they need work to have the best out of them. This also means that there are a few that have been maintained on the cheap and are less than what they could be. A full rebuild and fettling to make sure they are their best for the road will not see any change out of 5k. It is a highly strung motor and I would want to see a leak down compression test on any bike before buying.
