Righto, now fitted a filter and full akra system to my 1098. im looking into a map tailored to my bike. In the past if normally gone for a pc111, but I noticed on a 1098 that it can't adjust fueling nor throttle >20%.... Which as mine is mostly a road bike I'd like it cock on. so folks, what's the options?.......
Cjs located with lugi Moto in clutton nr Bristol is well worth a shout. Bit of an expert in this field. Or pm chrisw about getting your existing ecu reflashed to DP spec. cash wise the DP remap will be cheaper but cjs will give you far better results. Cjs work is about £300-400 I think.
If you are in the south there are very few better than Chris at CJS Racing who works with Rich Llewellyn (Louigi Moto) west of Bath. Custom map carefully done but it will take best part of a day to do it.
I had this problem with my 1098, I had a pc3 fitted with a custom map then I bought some Termi end cans without the DP ECU. I was told I could have the stock ECU reflashed for about £300 but this means if I ever wanted to take the exhausts off and return to stock I'd have to pay another £300 to have the ECU returned to standard. I managed to buy a DP ECU off ebay for £150 then I got my local dealer to fit it all and set it up but they couldn't get the fuelling right below 4k revs it ran very lumpy and was a nightmare in traffic, once you got above 4k it went like a bullet. I got quite a bit of conflicting information which I'll not bore you with but luckily I live only a few miles from Dynojet head quarters so I contacted them and they said the PC3 can be mapped below 4k revs or 20% with the DP ECU (but not the stock ECU) and it would be best to have a custom map put on the PC3 and set up with bike on the dyno. I did this and it was like riding a different bike. The power delivery was smooth and stronger throughout the full range and all the lumpiness and stammering had been ironed out. Dynojet charged me £140 for the run on the dyno and custom map. I was impressed with the results, straight up 160bhp at the rear wheel and 92.8 lbs torque.
