I'm re fitting the Oil cooler and the aluminium gaskets / crush washers (item 6 in the schematic below) that fit between the nipple and cooler or engine block are pretty torn up. I should work if you anneal it first, heat it up with a blow lamp and quench it in water, makes it really soft
